Keeping everyone safe during a new phase of living with COVID-19

If you:

- Have any fever or respiratory symptoms (runny nose, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell, loss of taste etc.);

- Have been a close contact of a person confirmed to have COVID-19

- Are a health care worker or aged care worker with other symptoms of being mildly unwell (e.g. headache, muscle aches, stuffy nose, nausea/vomiting/diarrhoea

- Have tested positive on a Rapid Antigen Test

Please contact reception on 03 9388 0990.

We run a daily respiratory clinic where doctors can assess patients with these symptoms in an isolation room. COVID-19 PCR swabs can be conducted in this setting.

Extra precautions we are taking to keep everyone safe:

  • University of Melbourne recommended HEPA air purifiers in every consultation room, waiting room, running at higher than recommended hourly air exchanges – see https://sgeas.unimelb.edu.au/engage/guide-to-air-cleaner-purchasing
  • Clinicians in surgical, P2/N95 masks, eye protection where appropriate
  • Staff screening all patients coming into the waiting room for symptoms.
  • We encourage patients to wait outside if they wish
  • Phone and video consults where appropriate in place of in-person (F2F) visits at patient discretion (we ask that everyone be mindful that some issues will require a physical examination)
  • Telehealth follow-up of COVID +ve patients where appropriate, in-person assessments via EBMC respiratory clinic as required.

Your appointments may have to be rescheduled or changed to telehealth appointments at short notice due to doctors and nurses having to isolate due to COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but ask for your understanding during this next phase of living with COVID-19.

We will keep you updated as best as we can in a rapidly changing environment.
